What is facial rejuvenation?

We provide tailored solutions to your specific needs and can discuss a range of available treatment options. All of our treatments are safe and are regulated by the Department of Health; they are delivered with the utmost care and respect in our comfortable and modern practice.

Some of the treatments we offer include:

  • Anti-wrinkle injections, which smooth away fine lines caused by smoking, age and stress.
  • Dermal fillers, which work on deeper lines and creases whilst maintaining a natural appearance by using natural products that replace what your skin has lost over time.
  • Lip enhancements, which erase fine lines, lift drooping corners and plump up thin lips to counteract the effect of ageing and smoking.
  • Skin rejuvenation using Restylane products, which are innovative and very popular amongst our patients as they stimulate natural collagen production, prompting your own body to fill in lines on your face. Your skin will look more youthful, with even skin-tone and greater elasticity.

How does facial rejuvenation work?

Each of our facial rejuvenation treatments work in different ways, though each is designed to target different types of skin imperfection. Your Dentist@W2 cosmetic expert will listen to what it is you would like to improve about your appearance and discuss with you the various options that will help. You can then decide on a treatment plan that will achieve a flawless finish that will suit your timeframe, skin type and budget.

Will facial rejuvenation work for me?

If you have fine lines, creases, an uneven skin tone, acne scars or damaged skin and would like to improve those imperfections, we have a range of treatments that have been tried and extensively tested to rejuvenate and repair skin on your face.

Our aesthetic professionals have access to our extensive range of cutting-edge treatments, products and technology and will explain all suitable options to you so that you can make an informed decision about which treatments to choose.

We want you to be happy with the results and will provide you with outstanding results. The products we use are all entirely safe and effective and will give you natural-looking, youthful skin.

How long does facial rejuvenation take?

This very much depends on which treatment you opt for. Some treatments will produce instantly-visible results after a single appointment, whilst others will take several treatments and time for the final effect to develop.

Contact us to discuss facial rejuvenation

If you are interested in having younger-looking skin or want to discuss any of our products with us, please call us or use our contact form to arrange a free initial consultation.

General and routine dentistry

Healthy teeth and gums are the foundation of a beautiful smile. We offer a range of cosmetic treatments that can straighten, whiten or restore your teeth, but all of these require strong, healthy teeth and gums to begin with. At Dentist@W2, our dentists work hard to help all of our patients improve routine oral hygiene at home, and encourage regular check-ups to spot early signs of decay and ensure that your teeth will stay in good shape.

 Book Online Now

What is general and routine dentistry?

Routine dentistry

It is important to see your dentist regularly for routine check-ups. We also invite all new patients to attend an initial check-up. During these appointments, our skilled and highly-experienced dentists are not only looking for any decay or build-up of plaque and tartar, but for early signs of oral cancer.

Oral cancer symptoms are often not noticeable to the patient but can be detected through careful examination during your routine appointment using our specialist equipment.

Using examinations and, if necessary, x-rays, we can check the full overall health of your teeth, gums and mouth. If any flaws are discovered, we will discuss with you the range of treatment options available and work out a plan of care with you.

General dentistry

We offer several treatments that we categorise as general dentistry. These are treatments that aim to correct any imperfections in the health or structure of your teeth. These include:

Fillings

Regular check-ups with our dentists will allow us to detect if decay has led to a cavity, in which case you may need a filling. As cosmetic dentists, we try to avoid amalgam fillings as they can affect the colour of your teeth and detract from the natural beauty of your smile. We therefore offer white fillings, which are strong, long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing. Applied under local anaesthetic, the procedure does not hurt.

Root canal treatment

Untreated tooth decay or trauma can lead to an infection of the ‘pulp’ of your tooth, which can cause an abscess to form, with all the associated pain and discomfort that this can create. To resolve the problem, the pulp may need to be removed and the root canal system filled. If your dentist has identified that root canal treatment is necessary, they will remove the pulp under local anaesthetic. A temporary filling may be placed until the infection and inflammation have subsided. At that point, the root canal filling can be applied. If necessary, your dentist may also recommend the application of a crown after the root canal treatment. This will protect the tooth from breaking and will also restore the appearance of your tooth afterwards.

Extractions

We try wherever possible to retain your natural teeth. However, sometimes it is necessary to remove unhealthy or damaged teeth and replace them with natural-looking, custom-made replacements such as bridges, implants or dentures. Similarly, if you are experiencing pain from wisdom teeth, these may need to be extracted. All extractions are done with the utmost care: anaesthetic will ensure that you will feel no pain and our dentists’ skill and experience mean that your tooth will be gently eased out of position, with no uncomfortable or distressing tugging. If an extraction is necessary, your dentist will discuss with you the options available for replacing your tooth (if necessary) and agree a treatment plan that suits your preferences and budget.

How do general and routine dentist appointments work?

We are currently welcoming new patients to our practice in central London. We invite all new patients to attend an initial appointment where you will be given an examination to check the state of your teeth and oral health, and to see whether any treatments would be of benefit to you. If you are experiencing any pain or discomfort, this will also be addressed.

All of our new and existing patients are encouraged to attend six-monthly or annual routine appointments so that we can keep a close eye on the health of your teeth. Our aim is to prevent the need for major treatment by keeping your teeth strong and healthy through good-quality oral hygiene and routine maintenance.

We understand that patients sometimes feel anxious about dental treatment, perhaps because of negative childhood experiences. If you are worried about having any form of dental treatment, for any reason, please let us know when you contact us to arrange your appointment. We can offer a range of effective, gentle sedation options that will help you to relax during your appointment.

Will general and routine dentistry work for me?

All of our patients will benefit from having regular check-ups and, where necessary, having minor dental issues addressed by our experienced, proficient dentists.

How long do general and routine dental appointments take?

A routine appointment should take no longer than 30 minutes. Appointments for general dentistry treatments such as fillings, extractions and root canal surgery can last 45 minutes or longer – your dentist will be able to give you a more accurate time estimate at your consultation.

Contact us

To arrange a routine check-up, whether you are a new or existing patient, please call us on 020 3944 5921 or use our contact form and we will organise an appointment at a time to suit you.

If you are in pain or discomfort, or if an issue is identified by your dentist at a routine appointment that needs to be addressed, call us or complete our contact form and we can arrange a suitable appointment. We also offer out-of-hours or same-day appointments for emergencies.

Dental Hygienist Appointment in Marylebone

Hygienist/preventative treatments

What are hygienist/preventative treatments?

At Dentist@W2 we firmly believe that prevention is better than cure, and to support you in maintaining your teeth we offer a range of services designed to keep your teeth clean, white and healthy.

Our experienced, highly-qualified hygienists provide thorough teeth-cleaning during annual or six-monthly appointments using the latest equipment and methods to maximise efficiency whilst keeping discomfort to a minimum. Your hygienist will remove any plaque and tartar and will also carefully examine your gums for any problems.

We take our duty to be observant for the early signs of oral cancer very seriously as without early detection, this type of cancer can become untreatable. Your dentist will also monitor for these signs during your normal check-ups, which are also vital for preventing tooth decay or gum disease.

 Book Online Now

How do preventative treatments work?

Your hygienist will meticulously carry out deep cleaning of your teeth, resolving any problems you may have (or may develop without care), including:

  • Plaque/tartar build up (which lead to decay)
  • Bleeding gums
  • Stained teeth
  • Bad breath

Your hygienist and your dentist will also give you advice on how best to keep your teeth clean and healthy at home on a daily basis.

Will preventative treatments work for me?

Even with thorough cleaning and regular check-ups and hygienist appointments, you can experience problems with your teeth and gums as a result of your lifestyle, illness or injury. We will always use the least-invasive, most conservative treatment options available whenever your teeth do require restoration. For most people, though, following our advice on diet and oral hygiene practices, plus regular visits to see our dentists and hygienists, will ensure that teeth and gums remain strong, white and healthy for life.

How long do preventative treatments work?

An annual or six-monthly check-up with your dentist will usually take no longer than 20 minutes. An appointment with your hygienist (which can be arranged to take place shortly before or after your check-up) will take around 30 minutes.

Daily brushing and flossing should take around 5 minutes, twice a day.

Contact us

To arrange a check-up or appointment with our hygienists, please call us or use our contact form and we will arrange a time that suits you. If you are experiencing difficulties with your teeth that you think may require treatment, please discuss these or mention them on your form so that an appropriate appointment may be made – we offer free initial consultations for new patients seeking treatment.

Dentures

With good oral hygiene and regular visits to us for check-ups, tooth loss does not need to be an ordinary part of growing older. For our patients who have lost teeth despite every effort to keep them, we offer dental implants, bridges and dentures. Which option is most suitable to you will depend on a range of issues, including the health of your jaw and gums, your general health, your personal preferences and your budget. All options will be discussed with you so that you can make an informed decision.

What are dentures?

If dentures are the preferred option, it is important that you know that modern dentures are a world away from the image you probably have in your mind. Our dental technicians will work hard to custom-make dentures that take into account not only the colour of your natural teeth but also the shape of your mouth and face, in order to create dentures that look entirely natural and fit perfectly.

Once your new dentures have been made and fitted, your smile will be rejuvenated and you can have confidence in your smile. Your new dentures will fit comfortably and securely, and be strong enough to allow you to eat whatever you would normally choose to eat.

How do dentures work?

Made of acrylic resin or chrome, you may be fitted with bespoke partial or full dentures depending on the number of teeth that need to be replaced, and their location.

By taking impressions your dentist can create a real-life model of your whole mouth in order to create your dentures. Using these impressions plus photographs of your face, dentures will then be crafted ready to be fitted during a further appointment.

Will dentures work for me?

If you are lacking several teeth or need several teeth to be extracted, perhaps due to illness, decay or injury, then dentures can prove a cost-effective, non-invasive means of replacing them. You can have a partial denture (which fits over your upper or lower gums) or full denture depending on your needs.

With good care, your dentures will last for many years, though over time the shape of your face and mouth will naturally alter with age and you may need further dentures to be crafted to ensure that they continue to fit snugly and securely. For a more permanent solution, we also offer dental implants, which can be discussed with you at your consultation.

How long do dentures take to make and fit?

The treatment time depends on your circumstances. If you need to have teeth extracted, your gums will need time to heal and any swelling to subside before impressions can be taken and your dentures prepared. This could take a couple of months, during which time it may be possible to fit you with a temporary set of dentures.

Otherwise, you may need up to four appointments: the first and second to sit comfortably whilst impressions and a record of your bite are taken. The third to try in a mock–up of your new dentures, and the fourth to to have your newly-crafted dentures fitted into place. The time between those appointments is likely to be just one to two weeks.

Contact us about dentures

If you are missing teeth or require extractions and want to discuss treatment options to restore your smile, call us or use our contact form and we will arrange a convenient appointment. We offer free initial consultations, during which a range of options, including dentures, will be discussed with you so that the best possible treatment plan can be devised.

What is an emergency appointment?

If you are in pain or distress because of a dental issue, we understand that you may not be able to wait for a normally-scheduled appointment. Under our emergency appointment system, we will see you at the earliest possible time, whether or not this is during normal practice hours.

If you are suffering from any of the following, or any other kind of dental emergency, we can help:

  • Toothache
  • Broken, chipped or knocked-out tooth
  • Bleeding gums
  • Infection in your gums
  • Abscess
  • Injuries or damage to your teeth, mouth or gums
  • Swollen gums or jaw
  • Wisdom teeth pain
  • Broken dental or orthodontic appliances (e.g. braces, dentures)

At Dentist@W2 we know that you can’t plan for when any of these dental problems will affect you, and that the pain caused by these types of issues can be intense. We want to be able to help you recover as quickly as possible.

If you are suffering from a dental emergency, please call our normal surgery number 0207 402 4024 (or use our contact form) and you will be able to speak to one of our experienced dental professionals. You will then be offered an appointment at the earliest opportunity so that we can help you to recover as quickly as possible.

Will an emergency appointment help me?

If you feel that your pain is intense or that your dental appliance needs to be repaired without delay, call our dental professionals to discuss what the problem is and we will advise you on any steps you can take to ease your symptoms, and then arrange an appointment to see you as soon as possible. At your emergency appointment we will endeavour to relieve your pain. Depending on what the problem is, we might also be able to fully repair and restore your teeth in a single, emergency appointment. Missing teeth can damage your confidence, make you less willing to smile and also have an impact on your speech and ability to eat. Furthermore, your other teeth can sometimes move slightly to fill the gap, leaving you with crooked teeth, and plaque can build up in the gaps where your toothbrush cannot reach leading to decay. Therefore it is very important to replace missing teeth as soon as possible.

 Book Online Now

At Dentist@W2 we will always try to preserve your teeth and, where necessary, repair or restore them using white fillings, root fillings, crowns or veneers. However, if teeth are lost through severe decay or an accident, we are highly experienced in fitting dental implants to provide you with a secure, permanent solution to missing teeth.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are posts made from titanium that are placed into your jawbone. To these metal posts, a crown is fitted that is perfectly colour matched to your surrounding teeth so that it will appear as though it is a natural tooth. It will fit securely and comfortably and it will be easy for you to forget that it is not your own tooth.

How do dental implants work?

Under local anaesthetic, your implantologist (a dentist who is specifically qualified and trained to perform this procedure) will install the dental implant by securing it to your jawbone through your gum. The local anaesthetic will ensure that you do not feel any discomfort, and any mild pain you may feel afterwards can be easily remedied with over-the-counter painkillers such as ibuprofen.

Your gum will need time to heal before a bespoke crown can be fitted, though it may be possible to fit a temporary crown over the implant whilst you heal and your implant becomes firmly embedded.

As soon as you are ready for your permanent crown, your dentist will take an impression of your mouth so that a custom-made crown can be created.

Will dental implants work for me?

Dental implants can be used to replace single teeth or several teeth. Your dentist will need to examine your mouth and bone structure to decide whether or not dental implants will be suitable for you. They will discuss all available options with you so that you can make an informed decision about the best treatment to choose.

How long do dental implants take?

You may need several appointments during the course of your treatment. At the first, you will be assessed to see whether dental implants will be a viable option, and if so you may be fitted with the dental implant. It can then take several weeks for you to heal and for the dental implants to become firmly embedded in your jaw. After this, you will need a further appointment to take an impression of your mouth so that a crown can be made for you. At your final appointment, your crown will be fitted and you will have a secure, natural-looking new tooth.
